♡ Wedding Bells ❤

Being engaged is like waking up to the sun shining and the flowers blooming. Its the greatest feeling in the world. If this is so wonderful, I cannot even imagine how spectacular being married is. Mr. Granby and I are engaged. I can't stop saying it. It sounds so right and perfect and I cannot get over the fact that I am soon to be married.
It sounds odd in the best way possible. He is an intelligent and handsome man. He cares about other people and is very kind and caring. We are to be married as soon as his father's estate is decorated for our reception. Tomorrow I am going to London with my dear fiance Mr. Granby and together we will pick out the perfect gown and an elegant suit for him to wear. In addition, we will pick out silverware and dishes for the extravagant party following the ceremony.
Mr. Granby has not told me where we are going for our honeymoon. He says he wishes to surprise me. The only information I have received is that we are to go away for a long time and it is going to be very romantic. This satisfies me plenty, for anywhere I go with him will be delightful because of the love we share.
In only a few weeks, I, Rosamond Oliver, will be married.

As The Leaves Fall, I Fall Too... In Love

I adore autumn.
You see, many people go on extensively long vacations during the summertime, but return to their homes in fall. This is when the parties start up again and it is SO delightful to meet new people. By people I especially mean gentlemen. Although I am still quite young, I do wish to marry soon. I've always fancied St. John Rivers, but he never seemed to pay much interest in me romantically, so sadly, I have given up.
However, this brings me to my big news. Just last week, I was invited to the county ball that I was a bit apprehensive to attend. I did not know anyone except for one person, who was being honored, and this was to be a big party. I would not have the delight to spend a big portion of the evening with my friend for he would be busy the entire evening, and I would need to cope for myself and create my own fun by getting to know new people. I was nervous, yet I knew I should go and socialize.
With that in mind, I went shopping and picked up a lovely olive toned dress that complimented my skin color, put on my favorite pearls and got into my coach. The ride was short and I arrived right on time. As I stepped inside I saw many welcoming faces and I knew right then, that it was going to be a good night. Within the first twenty minutes I had danced with three wonderful, very different men. All exceptionally charming. The last one, Mr. Granby, was my favorite. He asked me to dance later on in the night and even agreed to visit me in the future. I am very excited and am unsure as to what will happen between us. In anticipation for his visit (which has been scheduled to be in two fortnights), I have developed a strong liking towards him and cannot wait to see what will come.

A Friendship Blossoming

Today I had the honor to meet the head mistress for the new school. Her name is Jane and she is a very sweet girl. I can see a friendship between us budding. As I was journeying to the new school, many nerves overcame me. I am often exposed to new people through the many balls and parties I attend. However, this time was different. I long for a friend. Someone that lives nearby, that I can visit frequently and share endless laughs with. Someone to talk to and share my inner feelings. I am not a very open person, but this may be because I do not have someone to share my thoughts with. When I am not visiting London or at a ball, I am secretly very lonely, even though I may not always display this. With this in mind, I prepared myself to meet a potential friend. When I arrived, she greeted me warmly and I knew, that this would be the start of a wonderful friendship. I wish to visit her many times in the future. She seems very intellectual and kind and an all around good person. I am a very close friend to Mr. Reed and I know that he would not give this job to anyone who he does not believe will fulfill his requirements of a genuine and smart person. I am very excited and eager to see how my relationship with Jane will grow.

A Lovely Trip to London

Just three weeks ago, I received a letter from my dear friend St. John Rivers. He asked if I wished to help him put together a school for girls in the town that I live in. I delightfully accepted and I have now just returned from completing the task of choosing furniture and linens for the new school. You see, I love projects such as these. I enjoy decorating and helping the less fortunate, so the two combined is a splendid opportunity for me. I began my search but two weeks past. I called a coach and ventured into London. After three days, I arrived. I stayed in a small, but cozy inn. The people there were charming and kind and helped me to find the things that I needed. I was first directed towards a small, but lovely, furniture. There, I selected a bed for the woman who shall become mistress for the school. The bed was simple, but very comfortable (I tried it out myself). I found a nightstand and a dresser, both of which seemed to be sufficient for their purposes. I ventured deeper into the store, and I came upon a stunning painting of a sunset. It was prominently purple and pink but had hints of a gorgeous turquoise. I told the sales clerk I must have it, and it was quickly wrapped and placed into my coach. I found a few long tables and I told the man that worked there that I wished to have 25 chairs. He assured me that they would have them made for me. My first day was successful as were the days proceeding. I spent two days relaxing and taking leisurely strolls around some of London's finest gardens. On the fourth day I was invited to a ball. I greatly enjoy these festivities and this being so unexpected, I ventured into a boutique near where I was staying. I found a ravishing gown lined with lace that was a wonderful purple. I got many compliments. It was a grand evening, full of dancing, marvelous conversation, and many laughs. The following day I went to find a few fabrics to make the curtains, the mistress' bed covers, and table cloths. For the cutrains, I found a bright pink cloth with velvet edges, I thought it would give the room a touch of color. For the bed covers I chose a plain pale green and for the table cloths a simple white. I hope this is exactly what is needed and that St. John is pleased. I will write updates regarding the school and other events. I hope you enjoy- Rosamond
